One to One

What to expect

A guided focusing session can last 60 or 90 mins. There is a brief introduction and discussion about what themes or issues are to be explored . The focusing itself takes up the majority of the session. During it the guide will invite you to attend to yourself inwardly and speak aloud what you are noticing. This is the foundational practice of focusing. There is time at the end for questions and reflections about the process.

Focusing sessions can take place on the internet (via zoom) or in person when we are in the same location.

What to bring

Most important is that you bring an open curiosity to know and listen to yourself. It is also possible to bring a question , theme or situation in your life that you wish to explore during the session.

It is helpful to have a comfortable and quiet place to be for the duration of the session without disturbance. This may include setting phone and computer notifications to silent, water or tea and tissues. It is recommended to use headphones during the session as it helps create an environment where we can communicate in a relaxed way. It may be that you need to download the program zoom .
